EAT & INDULGE: THE SPINDRIFT (MADIHA)

The Spindrift feels like a shift the moment you walk in. Madiha has its own rhythm, slightly quieter than the more obvious coastal spots, less structured, more fluid. And then you step into Spindrift and everything tightens just a little. Not in a restrictive way, but in a way that feels more considered, more defined. At first, it almost feels like you’ve stepped out of the environment and into something separate.

The space is clean, open, with a pool sitting at the center that immediately pulls your attention. It’s not loud, it’s not overly styled, but it carries a presence that’s hard to ignore. Everything feels intentional. The layout, the seating, the way people move through the space without interrupting it. You sit down expecting a typical brunch setup. But it doesn’t fully play out that way.

The pace here is different. It’s slower than a city brunch, but more structured than a beach café. You’re not just stopping in for a quick meal, but you’re also not settling in for something overly drawn out. It sits in between, and that balance is what defines it. The food reflects that same approach.

A hand pours tea into a white cup on a wooden table with pastries, a green vase, and a blurred "News" paper in the background. Cozy setting.

Plates come out clean, composed, without unnecessary detail but still clearly thought through. You can see the influence of something more refined, but it doesn’t lose its connection to where you are. It doesn’t feel imported. It feels adapted.

At first, it feels light. Then it settles in. The kind of meal that holds you in place without weighing you down, where everything feels measured rather than excessive. The pool changes the dynamic completely.

It’s not just there as a feature. It becomes part of the experience. People move between sitting, eating, dipping in, coming back. There’s a flow to it that doesn’t feel staged, but still feels curated in a quiet way. Time behaves differently here.

You don’t rush, but you also don’t lose track of the day entirely. It keeps you present without pulling you too far away from everything else.

What stands out most is how balanced it feels. It doesn’t lean too far into luxury, and it doesn’t fall back into simplicity. It holds itself in a space that feels slightly elevated, but still accessible, still grounded. And that’s what makes it work.
